About the event
Lit Voices is a monthly series designed to honor and acknowledge community contributions of hometown poets, spoken word and rap artists. This free event will take place in the Jack Link’s Legend Lounge at 900 Hennepin each month and will be emceed by high school social worker and President of the Omega Zuluz Twin Cities, Reies Romero.
Each event will include a DJ – the four DJs who will rotate through each event are DJ Snuggles, Dot La Roc, Huh? What??, and Anthony Smoke D.
Desdamona is an International, award winning Poet & Emcee. She is a recipient of 3 MN State Arts Board Artist Initiative Grants and has traveled the US & abroad delivering her lyrics and spoken word, also spending her time in traditional and non-traditional classrooms spaces, working in over 300 schools, prisons & community centers.
